I have done some work on a fork of
has_many_polymorphs
. As I want don't want to rely on a git-repo in my Gemfile (or a local gemserver), I wanted to push the gem with my fixes to rubygems.org.

The Author for the current
has_many_polymorphs
is N/A, who is know naturally hard to reach. Can you tell me who owns the project or assign ownership to me?

Thanks!

It seems like that's one of Evan Weaver's many projects. I've added him to this conversation. Perhaps if you're willing to take over maintainership you two can work something out! His email is
evan [at] cloudbur.st
if you want to contact him outside of this thread, or feel free to use it as you see fit.

Nick Quarantotag:help.rubygems.org,2010-01-19:Comment/34997082010-10-30T00:36:38Z2010-10-30T00:36:39ZOwnership has_many_polymorphs

I have no problem with your fork, but let's call it has_many_polymorphs_2 or something so that people don't send me your bug reports. :-) I don't maintain it anymore. I can yank the old one if you want.

Evan Weavertag:help.rubygems.org,2010-01-19:Comment/34997082010-10-30T00:39:21Z2010-10-30T00:39:21ZOwnership has_many_polymorphs

Evan, just a heads up, ~20+ people download that gem on average daily...

I would much prefer if you leave the gem unyanked. Your call though :)

Nick Quarantotag:help.rubygems.org,2010-01-19:Comment/34997082010-10-30T00:48:26Z2010-10-30T00:48:26ZOwnership has_many_polymorphs

Hmm...what do they do with it? That's probably a good reason to have a new name for the new version.

I will leave the gem alone.

Evan Weavertag:help.rubygems.org,2010-01-19:Comment/34997082010-10-30T11:39:32Z2010-10-30T11:39:32ZOwnership has_many_polymorphs

Okay, thanks for the infos.

My current patches are available as kronn-has_many_polymorphs, but has_many_polymorphs2 sounds much better.

Thanks for clarifying your point.
For me, this question is resolved.

Matthias Viehwegertag:help.rubygems.org,2010-01-19:Comment/34997082010-11-05T01:04:11Z2010-11-05T01:04:11ZOwnership has_many_polymorphs

Cool, closing this one out for now.

Nick Quaranto
