(Installing it and inspecting the code reveal its just the generated gem template files). It's no longer on Github. (The page actually 404's).</p>
<p>In this case, it seems reasonable that there would be some way to make the name available again, if nothing else then upon the request of someone else.</p>
<p>Should I just use the "Report Abuse" feature for this? That seem harsh, and I certainly don't want to negatively affect anyone's account or anything.</p>
<p>I looked around a bit and couldn't find any answer or policy about this, so forgive me if this has already been discussed at length. (I found one mention of a policy on <a href="http://help.rubygems.org/discussions/problems/22217-gem-name-squatter">the way here</a> from a year ago but couldn't locate anything else).</p>
