Unable to release a Gem

Hello: I tried to push up a new gem but it was unsuccessful. Here is the output from the command line:
bundle exec rake release
traylor_view_tool 0.1.0 built to pkg/traylor_view_tool-0.1.0.gem.
rake aborted!
There are files that need to be committed first.

    Hi David,
    Sorry about the delay in response here.

    There are files that need to be committed first.

    Perhaps you need to commit git commit -m your changes?
