More granular RubyGem stats

Hi, we're building LocaleApp.com to make it easy for gem owners to get them localised. It'd be really useful to see some more granular stats for RubyGems.org - something like this:
Where all the red bits change when the year is selected.
Any chance of that happening?

I don't believe we currently have a desire to make our stats reliable or accessible as the stats provided by rubygems.org are only for amusement purposes.
Maintaining or improving them takes time away from the maintenance and development time for our core competency, serving gems.
However, rubygems.org is open-source software, and so long as "better" stats does not degrade serving gems, a patch you provide may be acceptable. See http://contribute.rubygems.org/ for more details.
