I think it would be very helpful to be able to sort search results by number of downloads.

The search results are already sorted by downloads:

What exactly are you referring to?

You're right. I guess I meant when browsing the list. I don't see a way to just see the most popular gems other than just for the curent day.

Yeah, there's some patches out for that already but I haven't been happy with the quality of it. Patches are welcome :)
