How should I handle the rename of a gem?
I'd like to choose a different name for one of my gems.

Should I add a post install message telling people the gem has been renamed,
or is there another recommended way to do this?

You simply push the new gem with the new name and tell your users about the new name. There is no mechanism for renaming gems.
