gems.rubyforge.org has been deprecated and replaced, long ago,
with
https://rubygems.org

Please update your sources using "gem source" command.

Luis Lavenatag:help.rubygems.org,2010-01-19:Comment/280652502013-08-01T17:33:35Z2013-08-01T17:33:36Zgems.rubyforge.org down?

This is on Ubuntu 10.04 (which hit EOL a couple months ago),
with no .gemrc. The bad path comes from
/usr/lib/ruby/1.8/rubygems/defaults.rb which says
def self.default_sources %w[http://gems.rubyforge.org/]

On Ubuntu 12.04, that file has the new value,
def self.default_sources %w[http://rubygems.org/]

So that's where it came from, and why you'll be hearing a lot of
complaints from people who have not yet updated their
now-unsupported ubuntu 10.04 systems.

Dan Kegeltag:help.rubygems.org,2010-01-19:Comment/280652502013-08-02T03:57:45Z2013-08-02T03:57:45Zgems.rubyforge.org down?

You guys should just put in a redirect, if possible.

Bentag:help.rubygems.org,2010-01-19:Comment/280652502013-08-02T15:40:33Z2013-08-02T15:40:34Zgems.rubyforge.org down?

Ubuntu 10.04 is an LTS release and the server edition is
supported and alive for two more years. Completely deactivating
gems.rubyforge.org is not a great move in that regard.

Andreas Ntag:help.rubygems.org,2010-01-19:Comment/280652502013-08-02T15:52:45Z2013-08-02T15:52:45Zgems.rubyforge.org down?

Hello,

Seems my other response got missed, but this was not intentional

is a problem with RubyForge (not RubyGems)

Please change your gem source to <a href=

What I have is a svn repository for a ruby application (not a
gem) on
rubyforge. Is that now available somewhere on rubygems.org?

rubyforge.org before the import (some years ago).

Otherwise you will need to push it to RubyGems.org.

Eric Hodeltag:help.rubygems.org,2010-01-19:Comment/280652502013-11-07T23:29:17Z2013-11-07T23:29:19Zgems.rubyforge.org down?

I guess I am back to the original problem (which seems not to be
a
rubygems.org problem). Rubyforge.org is not available and I (the
author
or an app) can no longer access the svn repository. Is there any
way
you could forward this exchange to Tom Copeland. I think he might
know
what is up.
