Trying to install gems for the first
time. Not behind a firewall. I actually did downloaded ZIP folder
once, but, when installing Ruby i forgot to check and therefor
wasn't able to open setup.rb file. I downloaded FileViewer that was
supposed to open it. it didn't. but for some reason rubygems-2.0.4
folder became just some strange looking file. i uninstalled
FileViewer, deleted rubygems zip file, reinstalled Ruby and trying
to download rubygems zip again but it gives me Application Not
Found.

Vincenttag:help.rubygems.org,2010-01-19:Comment/277943352013-07-16T22:28:48Z2013-07-16T22:28:48Zcan not download rubygems zip

I can download and unzip the file successfully.

Here are various checksums for my downloaded
rubygems-2.0.4.zip:

$ md5 rubygems-2.0.4.zip MD5 (rubygems-2.0.4.zip) =
603fca4346b8c4d021592c57c4c74861
$ shasum -a 1 rubygems-2.0.4.zip
11bfa7ebbab753f7da5a202d6362870b65f89ded rubygems-2.0.4.zip
$ shasum -a 512 rubygems-2.0.4.zip
5e9fd3ac39a79318b46ee1ff97032591b647c64400b290c72665ec21eacb214942ed006ab003f6e6f56229252ebe24006784b6764bd7a77e14c38d8e921d9ed1
rubygems-2.0.4.zip

If your checksum matches you probably have some error in your
zip decompression program.

If your checksum does not match you probably have a connection
problem.

Eric Hodel
