and RubyGems 1.3.5. Now I need to download Watir 1.6.0 but when I
click the download link for Watir from this site I get a screen
with random characters on it. I need to run Watir on a network that
doesn't have internet connectivity (i.e., the command gem install
watir doesn't work). How can I download Watir 1.6.0 from the
internet and install it on a system without network
connectivity?</p></div>Chrysta Stottstag:help.rubygems.org,2010-01-19:Comment/11119342010-02-26T18:25:19Z2010-02-26T18:25:19ZHow to download WATIR 1.6<div><p>You should be able to right click on the link and select

<p>The easiest way is to <code>gem install watir -i

tmp_gems/cache/.<br></p></div>Eric Hodeltag:help.rubygems.org,2010-01-19:Comment/11119342010-02-26T19:43:40Z2010-02-26T19:43:41ZHow to download WATIR 1.6<div><p>But can't you only enter the command you suggest after first
installing Ruby and RubyGems? I didn't install them on the computer

download approval from our security folks, I'll try and let you

<p>If you manually download you'll need to also download all the
dependencies.</p></div>Eric Hodeltag:help.rubygems.org,2010-01-19:Comment/11119342010-03-01T20:58:03Z2010-03-01T20:58:04ZHow to download WATIR 1.6<div><p>No dice.</p>
<p>To recap, I downloaded Ruby 1.8.6-26 and RubyGems 1.3.5,
transferred the files to the test network (which does NOT have
internet connectivity) and installed them. Now I'm attempting to
get the Watir gem. I right-clicked on the download link but the
file that I saved was named watir-1.6.5.htm. I saved it anyway and
copied it over the the test network. But when I run the command
(gem install watir OR gem install watir -i tmp_gems/) the error
states:<br>
ERROR: <a href="http://rubygems.org/">http://rubygems.org/</a> does
not appear to be a repository<br>
ERROR: could not find gem watir locally or in a repository</p>
<p>What am I doing wrong?</p></div>Chrysta Stottstag:help.rubygems.org,2010-01-19:Comment/11119342010-03-01T21:07:34Z2010-03-01T21:07:39ZHow to download WATIR 1.6<div><p>Is there an FTP site or some other way I can download the file?
A way to get around needing the gem? All the other dependencies are
in place.</p></div>Chrysta Stottstag:help.rubygems.org,2010-01-19:Comment/11119342010-03-13T18:38:54Z2010-03-13T18:38:54ZHow to download WATIR 1.6<div><p>As far as I know, this is due to an incorrect mimetype on our

option-click if you're on a Mac.</p></div>Eric Hodeltag:help.rubygems.org,2010-01-19:Comment/11119342010-04-15T15:58:06Z2010-04-15T15:58:10ZHow to download WATIR 1.6<div><p>Again, the reason for my post is that when I select "Download" I
see random bytes (as demonstrated in the attached file).
Incidentally, when I right-click the download link, there isn't a
download option in the menu. Instead, I selected 'Save Target
As...' but that yielded the same result.</p>
<p>Post <a href="/discussions/problems/7" title=

that it's an error due to an incorrect mimetype. What is the ETA on
resolution?</p></div>Chrysta Stottstag:help.rubygems.org,2010-01-19:Comment/11119342010-04-16T13:30:17Z2010-04-16T13:30:22ZHow to download WATIR 1.6<div><p>Is this issue fixed. Even i am getting the same problem at my
