FYI, "http://gems-mirror" is our internal mirror that we update every night, and have been updating every night. No problems reported, yet...

$ gem search -r --source http://gems-mirror ^mongo$ REMOTE GEMS mongo (1.2.0)

$ gem search -r --source ^mongo$ REMOTE GEMS mongo (1.2.4, 1.2.0)

Is Marshal.4.8.Z broken again?

    We only run the legacy index generator once a week since it's painfully resource intensive and slow (it has to literally load and generate all 100,000+ gemspecs).

    Please use rubygems-mirror instead:

    That being said, it looks like it's broken. :(

    Hi Nick,

    So Marshal.4.8.Z only gets updated once a week?

    Which day? Or I guess a better question is, when is it likely to be finished? :)

    rubygems-mirror looks like it's not-quite-ready for production given the documentation available on github - is that not the case?

    Was hoping to get an answer for this - I'm looking to stop attempting to mirror the whole thing every night and only do it once a week, but I'd rather not guess at it and happen to pick the day before you guys run your index.

    Also looking to get an update as to whether or not A) Marshal.4.8.Z updating is fixed, and B) is rubygems-mirror actually ready for prime-time?

    Thanks :)

    Hi there,

    Please use rubygems-mirror. I haven't heard any issues with it, so I'm assuming it's working fine. If it's not, please let me know and I'll get on it!
