"Handle is invalid" error at sign-up

I tried to create an account, but got the error "Handle is invalid", with no other explanation of why, or what constitutes a valid handle.
How can I find out why my chosen handle ('Neurogami') is invalid, and what determines if a handle is valid?

   Yeah, seems like we don't allow capitals for some reason:

   Filing an issue for this, I'll update this ticket once we've got it fixed. For now, just create an account with a different handle and tell me, then I'll update manually to Neurogami for you.

   What's odd is I *thought* I had tried this variation when I first had
   the issue, but perhaps not.

   Anyways, I'm signed up now. Thanks again.
