Including download count in the daily marshal, Marshal.4.8.Z
Hi,
Can you include a "download count" statistic for each gem in the daily marshal file?
Thanks,
Ankur

No. The marshal file is used in very specific ways by RubyGems itself, and it often doesn't come from a dynamic, public source like rubygems.org. We'd also be altering specifications that authors included in their gems, which we won't do.
If I were you, I'd consider opening another discussion about API access to download counts if it doesn't exist already.

This exists already in the query api. We could do a better job of releasing all the download stats, that's definitely on my list.
