Is it still happening? We
are working on a better CDN/connections worldwide so hopefully this
will get better soon!

Nick Quarantotag:help.rubygems.org,2010-01-19:Comment/363925642016-04-16T08:23:58Z2016-04-16T08:23:59ZRubygems timing out in AWS sydney

I have the same issue all over SE Asia (I travel frequently) -
worse now than last year, so not sure what the CDN upgrade did.

Do we need a money-drive for small donations to upgrade to a
system that will handle the load?

As well, could we get an "auto retry" option? For now, the only
workaround is to babysit the 'bundle install' and keep restarting
it until it finally makes it through the list - but that involves
the whole 'fetching' gem and version metadata steps.

Jamestag:help.rubygems.org,2010-01-19:Comment/363925642016-04-23T12:53:24Z2016-04-23T12:53:24ZRubygems timing out in AWS sydney

I'm pretty sure there is an auto retry already.
We still have not finished our big move to use Fastly completely.
We are
still doing extra requests (like we always have). We are making
good
progress and I'm hoping we can have the Fastly project complete in
the next
few months.

David Radcliffe
