Yanking just hides the gem from being shown
in the index. It is meant by design to allow downloads still.</p>
<p>Once I get some free time I can get this deleted. Please keep in
mind that RubyGems is a 100% volunteer run service.</p>

index" then why is it showing in "select * from index where
