Host bb-m.rubygems.org is not responding to SSL requests

When attempting to install yard, an error was received that the host at https://api.rubygems.org/quick/Marshal.4.8/yard-0.8.7.3.gemspec.rz refused the connection. A curl which included the headers revealed that the request was redirected to https://bb-m.rubygems.org/quick/Marshal.4.8/yard-0.8.7.3.gemspec.rz. An attempt to connect to bb-m.rubygems.org on port 443 was refused. This appears to be an alias for the host mirror01.c45627.blueboxgrid.com. This host could be pinged, but the service on the SSL port was not listening. Please correct the problem that will enable yard to be available. Thanks!

    Hi Nick,

I was able to download directly from the website rather than through gem. I had a similar experience earlier this week with installing mocha through gem where bb-m.rubygems.org using http (unlike the situation below where it was using https). And, unlike the previous case, it was not redirected further.

I would be glad to try to again if you would like.
