Can I take over a gem name which repo does not exists anymore?
Hello,
I was looking for a passbook gem and found: http://rubygems.org/gems/passbook
But the repository does not exists anymore so I decided to develop
a new one: https://github.com/frozon/passbook
I would like to know if it is possible to push my gem named
passbook on the one already on rubygems.org
knowing that this one does not exists anymore.
Thanks regarding to your answer.

I've added tmilewski to this thread...we usually try to resolve this by talking to the owner first.
The easiest way to solve this is rename your gem to something else, and just keep shipping!

Hey Nick!
I had big plans for this gem but time simply didn't allow for it. :-/
I'm more than happy to allow @frozon to take over the gem name. Just let me know what you need me to do.
Thanks for the heads up!

I've added frozon as an owner to the passbook gem, you're free to remove Tom, yank the existing version(s), and move on from there.
